Hello, Slayers! The wait is almost over! After a long journey, Undead Citadel finally arrives on PS VR2 on June 26.
This game is a long-time passion project for us. Our intention was to create something that would truly make you feel immersed in a dark, undead-infested world—where every strike, block, and thrust genuinely matters. No button-mashing, no floaty physics. Just you, your weapon, and whatever is crawling toward you.
What is Undead Citadel?
At its core, it’s a first-person action game where you fight in a plague-infested medieval world overrun by the undead. You’ll battle through a pestilence-ridden citadel using over 75 different weapons—from swords and axes to bows and even war hammers. You’ll also discover four potent elixirs—slow time, overpower your strength, or freeze enemies mid-attack. It’s chaotic in the best possible way.
The game features a full story campaign with hand-crafted levels, puzzles, and lore to uncover. We’ve also included Horde Mode (endless waves, point hunting, chaos) and an Arsenal where you can test all discovered weapons in a sandbox environment.
Built for VR, Optimized for PS VR2
We designed everything from the ground up for virtual reality. Combat is fully physics-driven with 1:1 hand movements and near-zero latency—when you swing your arm, that’s exactly what happens in-game. Every impact carries real weight, every block matters, and every mistake has consequences.
PS VR2’s precise tracking and haptic feedback make a massive difference. Whether parrying a blade, blocking with a shield, or landing a headshot with your last arrow—everything feels fluid, immersive, and intense.
Smoother Sweeps, Fewer Woes: Thank You, 90Hz!
Undead Citadel runs at 90Hz, enabling players to experience more natural and responsive movements when turning or dodging. This makes the world feel more “real,” especially crucial during intense melee combat when physically engaging enemies.
Not to mention that for VR-sensitive players, 90Hz is a comfort sweet spot—delivering smooth traversal and rapid movements crucial for Horde Mode play.
Why the PS VR2 Version Hits Different
Undead Citadel on PS VR2 leverages the hardware to make everything feel incrementally more real in ways you might not consciously notice, but will definitely feel.
Adaptive triggers add subtle resistance when gripping weapons—like sliding your hand along a sword hilt or pressing menu buttons. A small detail that brings tactile depth to interactions, significantly impacting gameplay.
Then there’s the headset haptics—when taking damage, you’ll feel rapid pulses that physically reinforce the action. Never overdone, just enough to heighten presence. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you appreciate… until it’s gone.
Both adaptive triggers and headset haptics are exclusive to the PS VR2 version, and we’re thrilled with how they enhance immersion.
Prepare to Face the Undead
We’ve poured immense effort and care into this game, and hope you feel it when playing. Thank you for your patience and support throughout development. We hope Undead Citadel delivers combat unlike anything else in VR. Add it to your wishlist now to battle the undead like never before. Undead Citadel launches June 26, 2025 for $29.99!
