NEXON celebrated the first anniversary of The First Descendant with new trailers and details for Season 3.
Slated for release on August 7, Season 3: Breakthrough introduces a new field area, a playable Descendant, a collaboration with NieR: Automata, and more.
Season 3 takes place in the Axion Plains—a new field zone featuring large-scale battles and dungeon exploration. For enhanced mobility, the update adds the Hover Bike for rapid transit across Axion. Highlighting the new content is the Colossus Field Raid, an 8-player activity.
Nell debuts as a playable Descendant, using telekinesis abilities to mark enemies and support allies with shields. Additionally, themed outfits for 2B and A2 from NieR: Automata will be available.
Starting July 3, players will receive a Spotify Player Card and two Dyes for logging in. The game’s original soundtrack launches on major streaming platforms, including Spotify.
For newcomers, two onboarding systems arrive in Season 3. Descendant Boost Up lets players jump straight into Hard mode content with predefined gear, while Boost Path provides step-by-step guidance to introduce game mechanics and streamline progression.
Finally, a companion app is available on iOS and Android. The app enables players to track quests, view gear details, and receive alerts, with future updates promising direct in-game interactions.
