Screenwriter and producer of It and Annabelle, Gary Dauberman, is bringing Bloober Team’s The Medium to the big screen.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter (via IGN), Dauberman has secured the screen rights to Bloober’s horror title. A screenwriter and director have yet to be announced.
“With its compelling story and incredibly cinematic visuals, The Medium is a natural fit for the big screen,” Dauberman said in a statement. “When I spoke to [CEO] Piotr [Babieno] about the film, we connected instantly over our mutual love of horror and his vision for where the genre is heading. I have no doubt that anything Bloober develops is going to push horror forward in unique and terrifying ways, and I’m excited to work with them.”
Babieno added: “Adapting games into films usually involves balancing many interests, but with The Medium, I have a strong feeling that Gary is the perfect partner for us. From our very first conversation, I felt we were completely in sync. And every conversation since has only reinforced that feeling.”
The Medium is a game in which you must unravel a dark mystery that only a medium can solve. Explore the physical and spiritual worlds simultaneously.
