RedOctane Games, a new studio founded by rhythm game veterans, has announced its formation. The studio is focused “exclusively on advancing the genre, combining the past with the future,” and is currently in production on its first rhythm game, set to be announced later in 2025.
The studio is headed by Simon Ebejer, former production director on several Guitar Hero series titles at Neversoft, who previously served as studio head at Vicarious Visions and vice president of operations at Blizzard Entertainment.
RedOctane Games’ team includes creators and developers “who helped create and expand Guitar Hero and DJ Hero,” alongside “emerging development talents and community leaders from the entire universe of today’s rhythm games.”
Furthermore, brothers Charles and Kai Huang, original founders of the Guitar Hero franchise in 2005, will join a special advisory board for RedOctane Games, bringing “deep heritage and insights for the studio’s future direction.”
