Independent developer NETK2GAMES announced that the arcade-themed rally game featuring simulation mechanics, Rally Arcade Classics, will receive its Precision & Chase update on September 9th.
The update will implement a manual transmission mode, a redesigned speedometer, and add an online friend leaderboard, allowing players to track lap records of fellow known racers.
Here’s what’s new in the Precision & Chase update:
- Manual transmission becomes available, with leaderboards displaying whether top times were achieved in manual or automatic mode;
- A speedometer will be added to the UI, replacing the previous bar. Manual transmission users will see a larger interface for checking speed and RPM, while automatic users get a more glanceable element during races;
- A Friend List will be introduced, letting players closely follow up to 25 racers;
- Leaderboards will be overhauled. Beyond showing transmission types used, you’ll be able to filter listings: global rankings, top 10, and friends.
Rally Arcade Classics is available for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam, bringing fans back in time to 90s genre classics. The game features 44 iconic cars across different eras (70s, 80s, 90s) with a license-based progression system: players must hone their driving skills to unlock modes before piloting legendary vehicles, introducing simulation physics into what would otherwise be a traditional arcade racer. Tour, Arcade, Rally, and weekly events are also available for different styles and preferences.
