NCSOFT announced today (August 19) during the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live (ONL) two new titles: Time Takers and Cinder City. Both games received prominent positioning, with the Korean publisher highlighting them as flagship releases planned for the company’s 2025-2026 season.
Though trailers specifically mentioned Steam, the official announcement confirmed console versions for both titles.
Time Takers
First revealed at Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live, MISTIL GAMES’ Time Takers is a team-based third-person survival shooter built around one core rule: time as currency. Players form three-person squads, each choosing a Time Traveler from a diverse roster spanning historical eras. They battle rival teams in a fight for survival where only one squad emerges victorious.
During matches, players collect Temporal Energy to upgrade abilities and equip performance-enhancing apps. Crucially, Temporal Energy isn’t merely for power-ups – it determines each player’s and team’s survival. Every second spent or saved becomes a strategic lifeline.
With unique character abilities and flexible builds through weapon/app combinations, even identical characters can play completely differently across matches. This empowers players to develop personal playstyles and discover new tactical approaches each time they deploy.
Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Time Takers features high-fidelity graphics, motion capture, facial capture, and responsive gameplay. The game launches globally in 2026 for PC and consoles.
Cinder City
Following Cinder City’s official reveal (formerly Project LLL) and yesterday’s August 18 showcase at NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX event, NCSOFT premiered this tactical MMO shooter with an exclusive Gamescom ONL trailer. The footage showcased large-scale multiplayer mech combat, monster battles in tight corridors, and expansive open-world firefights.
The game invites players to step into the armor of a futuristic knight, navigate a world reshaped by advanced technology, and wage war across iconic landmarks and high-tech battlefields in post-apocalyptic Seoul.
Developed internally by BigFire Games, Cinder City challenges players to make difficult choices while searching for the protagonist’s missing daughter – either solo or with a squad. The title arrives in 2026 for PC and consoles.
