As Daigo, the Masked Master, drains the Island’s energy, a new generation of legends rises at the Supernova Academy. Ripe with untapped power, this heroic team of recruits must master their abilities to thwart Daigo’s scheme. So gear up! Train. Give it your all. Attain peak form. The time has come to learn how to become heroic in Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 — Season 3: Super!
Learning Heroics
The goal is simple: test your strength against the terrifying Daigo, Masked Master, and his henchmen. Oh, and the 99 other players in the Match. This is where you’ll need to save the day:

Supernova Academy
Designed as a heroic training center for the most talented individuals, the Supernova Academy is the premier place to learn how to defeat super villains.
Utopiana
A beacon of hope, life is (or was) but a dream among Utopiana’s elegant and serene skyline. Here, you’ll find meticulously maintained offices, landscaped design, and a trove of loot to claim.
Demon Domain
Danger looms over Daigo the Masked Master’s fortress, Demon Domain, where he plots to dominate the Academy and Utopiana. His ruined stronghold is the perfect place to hone your craft and practice supernatural powers!
Rank Up Hero Ranks
Want to be heroic? You’ll need a uniform first! Every heroic act you perform in a Match increases your Hero Rank. Everyone starts a Match at Rank C and can rise to B, A, S, and S+. Your Hero Rank is shared with others in your squad. Check out some heroic acts that can help you rank up:
- Eliminate opponents
- Survive Storm phases
- Lead a Sprite to an Altar
- Eliminate henchmen
Every rank-up grants you 100 effective Health. Plus, you’ll access a Hero Cache stocked with powerful loot:

There’s no Hero Cache at Rank S+. Instead, when reaching S+, you’ll achieve your final form and receive all remaining Boons. Watch out for that massive power spike!
Surpass Expectations with Hero Items
Top figures at the Supernova Academy wield signature powers you can harness. For example, Morgana. Her Morgana’s Gauntlets launch a beam of Shadow Energy forward. Hero Items aren’t Outfit-bound. They’re lootable items found in Hero Caches and elsewhere around the Island.
Here are other Hero Items that’ll help you save the day and your report card:
- Killswitch’s Reapers: dual pistols channeling cinematic action-thriller adrenaline. Dodge roll to evade gunfire and activate Slow Motion mid-air to counter-attack precisely.
- Tracking Visor: state-of-the-art visor scanning the battlefield, tagging nearby opponents, and revealing enemy footsteps.
- Bass Boost: creates a soundwave that destroys structures, deals damage to players, and repels foes on contact. Alt-fire launches you skyward!
- Cube Surfing (later in the Season): a cube surfboard that’ll zip you where you want to go in a flash.
- Frenzy Beasts’ Pompoms (later in the Season): transforms you into a relentless Frenzy Beast, with devastating attacks and a bouncing, destruction-delivering power: Storm Smash.
- Myst Form (later in the Season): temporarily turns you into an invulnerable vortex of Shadow Crows that can navigate short distances.
- Combine with Morgana’s Gauntlets to become Ascending Myst, dealing increased damage and extending invulnerability.
Unlock Innovations at the Tech Lab
For Hero Items, head to the Supernova Academy’s Tech Lab. There, you’ll find accessible stations containing Hero Items, each available according to your Hero Rank. Items will also be purchasable with Bars. More Academy Tech Labs will appear across the map as the Season unfolds!
The Cutest Hero’s Comrade
There’s more at your disposal beyond Hero Items. Toss a Krypto Treat and Superman’s canine companion will jet down from the cosmos to fetch it, dealing major damage to nearby baddies!
Extracurricular Equipment
There’s also the Robin’s Grappler, an ever-reliable tool. You’ll find it surpasses standard Grapnel Gloves by closing distances fast. Excellent for escaping the Storm or making dramatic landings as any hero should!
Pursuing heroics doesn’t always mean being well-mannered. The Spire Rifle is a new Light Machine Gun with an extended magazine that deals amplified structure damage! If this joins the fray, perhaps steer clear.
Developed by the highest echelon of research at Supernova Academy, the Hyperburst SMG sprays three-projectile bursts, while the Dead-Eye DMR will tear through shields at range.
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Highly experimental weapons sprung straight from some twisted dream, these Unstable Exotics are available exclusively through Rank S Hero Caches and Academy Tech Labs.
- Unstable Yoink Shotgun: anyone hit by the first shot of the magazine will get yoinked toward you!
- Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol: the first and last shots fired from each magazine create a Concussive Blast at the point of impact.
- Unstable Frostfire Shotgun: if a shot hits its target, you may receive a Pepper Effect or inflict Slow on the target.
Amplify Your Skills with Boons
Every hero needs a Boon. Discover new Boons in Island Chests or purchase them at Academy Tech Labs. This Season, your Boons will grow more potent as your Hero Rank increases.
- Storm Caller Boon: regenerates Shield during the Storm, replenished Shield amount increasing per Hero Rank. Grants Storm Foretell at Rank S.
- Speed Healer Boon: enables sprinting while using healing items and grants Sprint Effect timing afterward, effect duration increasing per Hero Rank. Gain Sprint Effect immediately upon using any healing item at Rank S.
- Combat Acrobat Boon: performing parkour (mantling etc.) partially reloads your equipped weapon, reload amount increasing per Hero Rank. Reloads all your weapons at Rank S.
- Heightened Senses Boon: marks any opponent who shoots at you, mark duration increasing per Hero Rank. Cooldown reduced at Rank S.
Sprites – Your Essential Allies
The Dash Sprite and Superman Sprite have replaced Air and Water Sprites across the Island. As the flitting elemental spirit, the Dash Sprite bestows anyone within its area of effect with three burst dash charges over time. Meanwhile, the Superman Sprite destroys everything in front of it with a justice-beaming laser, melting any fortress with a grin.
Bad Guys and Beating… What Could Be Better?
Daigo the Masked Master has returned from the Spirit World entirely corrupted by dark magic, growing more powerful by siphoning the Island through his Spires. Come prepared with solid loot before challenging him at Demon Domain.
Defeat Daigo to earn the Mythic Enhanced Spire Rifle and the Demon Fang Medallion, which boosts reload speed and regenerates up to 50 Shield per second. But note: Medallions don’t camouflage! Medallions reveal you on opponents’ mini-maps, and the more Medallions you carry, the more precise your revealed location becomes.
Daigo’s lieutenant Kor can be found where Shogun X once stood. She rapidly leaps, closing distances to blast foes with her mighty Dead-Eye DMR. (And yes—it’s powerful!) Defeat Kor to earn the Mythic Dead-Eye DMR and the Cloaking Phantom Medallion, which generates invisibility when performing a dash leap. It also increases dash leap distance, speed and height.
