System Shock 2 Remaster Reveals Massive Co-op Multiplayer Improvements

Nightdive Studios has released a new multiplayer trailer for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. Watch it below.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster features a completely overhauled co-op multiplayer mode, significantly improving upon the original 1999 game and Nightdive’s first 2013 re-release of System Shock 2. Veteran players and newcomers will now have access to cross-play multiplayer between PC and consoles, along with several other refinements, making this the definitive edition of System Shock 2 for fans and newcomers to enjoy.

The original System Shock 2 revolutionized the medium’s narrative, atmosphere, and gameplay, inspiring a generation of subsequent titles. It completely reshaped how gaming audiences viewed narrative potential in first-person games and earned over a dozen “Game of the Year” awards and accolades.

Set 42 years after the events of the first System Shock, the antagonist SHODAN and her army of ruthless mutants return to infest the Von Braun starship. Players embody a soldier who awakens from cryosleep with cybernetic implants grafted onto their body. While investigating the terrifying mystery of the abandoned vessel, they must upgrade their enhanced abilities and wield powerful weapons and paranormal psi abilities to survive SHODAN’s monstrous creations—and endure her god complex.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will launch on June 26 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
