Greetings, scientists! July 22nd approaches rapidly, a date predicted by our analysts and repeatedly tested in the labs of our facilities! That’s right, we’re working on Abiotic Factor, a unique co-op adventure. Play solo or with up to 5 friends as enthusiastic intellectuals trapped in a secret underground research and containment facility following an invasion by militant crusaders determined to disrupt your science unceremoniously.
Use your brains – not brawn – to survive by inventing and fighting your way sector by sector, interdimensional portal by interdimensional portal, to finally – hopefully – escape.
Your First Day
Upon beginning your first day at GATE Cascade Research Center, the labs descend into utter chaos. Starting in the picturesque Office Sector, it’s up to you and your friends to resolve the situation all on your own, literally.
Tend to your basic needs – from cracking open vending machines and napping on sofas to preparing meals with alien meats and raiding the executive bathroom on the coveted third floor… if hazardous radiation leaks don’t get you first.
Build a home within this massive facility – a base or shelter using whatever you can scavenge! Stay comfortable and safe amid panoramic views of empty cubicles and the machinations of science and supernatural. Whether adding an office water cooler to your lounge, an advanced power system to keep things running, or laser turrets to fend off enemies, there’s always more to invent, build, discover, and explore.
Craft equipment needed to combat enemies from across worlds and dozens more antipodal realms. Use smashed computer parts, repurposed office supplies, alien artifacts, and objects your tiny human brain can barely comprehend – but that won’t stop you from trying. What are you, a coward? No, you’re a scientist.
When not fighting anomalous entities, you’re tending hydroponics. When not farming, you’re cooking meats just right or sitting by makeshift heaters with friends… or attempting to hotwire an abandoned forklift.
While scavenging corridors, you might find yourself fighting for your life – but instead of fleeing like the skinny intellectual you feel deep down, wield your big wrinkly brain and SCIENCE to overcome encounters and gain advantage. Because if there’s one thing you’ve got that enemies don’t, it’s scientific power at your fingertips, right next to your calculator watch.
Playing with friends? Adopt the role matching your skills: forager, fighter, chef, builder, or explorer. Dozens of ways exist to play Abiotic Factor – and dozens more you’ll invent along the way. Just don’t forget to stay hydrated, okay?

Unravel its bizarre secrets and anomalous wonders, chamber by chamber. Carve shortcuts and explore every nook and cranny – we’ve got both. Do all this while growing your arsenal of tricks to tackle mysterious challenges each sector brings, meeting fellow scientific experts who may aid – or hinder – your quest for ultimate survival.
You’ll soon find your adventure extends far beyond the facility into myriad strange worlds and distant supernatural realms, unlocked by science and forces unknown to mere clipboard-clutching mortals.

Whether tackling challenges as a mad scientist or operating as a reserved researcher, through trial and error, you can survive. Just remember to bring your favorite lab coat – and maybe some colleagues too.
