Aggelos 2 Announced for PS5 and PS4, Launching in 2026

PQube has officially announced Aggelos 2, the sequel to the 2D action-platformer game, Aggelos.

In continued partnership with long-time co-publisher PixelHeart and developed by the talented Wonderboy Bobi, Aggelos 2 builds upon everything fans loved about the original while delivering a bold evolution of its retro roots.

Aggelos 2 will launch in 2026 digitally for PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, with physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

Swapping its original 8-bit style for 16-bit pixel art with beautiful detail, Aggelos 2 introduces a new twin-realm mechanic that lets players alternate the hero’s Light and Darkness powers in real-time and travel between the two realms via portals.

These innovative features lie at the heart of exploration and combat, creating a dynamic, layered Metroidvania experience where timing, precision, and quick thinking are essential.

You are an Aggelos—the highest tier among angels—as the gods face imminent defeat against the Army of Darkness. Sent on an epic journey across Balro through Lumen, the domain of the supreme god of light.

With Lumen under siege, you must battle chaos across the overlapping Light and Darkness worlds. Both realms overflow with challenging enemies, winding paths, and intriguing puzzles. Switching between realms proves vital for survival and progress.

Both worlds react to your current form. In Angel mode, you move slower and with precision—absorbing light projectiles, unlocking light-based switches, and playing defensively. Demon mode is fast and aggressive, letting you dash through shadow barriers and attack powerfully with dark abilities.

Combat is dynamic and tactical—switching between Celestial and Infernal forms at critical moments is key to survival. Battle enemy hordes and 13 mighty bosses, with every encounter demanding flawless timing and precision.

As you ascend to the heavens or plunge into the abyss, collect potent Orbs to unlock new abilities like dashing, wall jumping, flight, and devastating special attacks. These powers—augmented by magic potions—will empower your combat and exploration through the forces of Order and Chaos.
