EA and Respawn have unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming season of Apex Legends, titled Showdown.
The season launches on August 5th. Here’s a summary of the new features:
GO HARD, GO ALL OUT AT THE JOKER
A new permanent game mode featuring faster gameplay, explosive loot, and second chances to get you back in the fight.
Assemble a squad with up to 3 of the same Legend and drop into a remixed Kings Canyon packed with gravity cannons, ziplines, and other map toys.
AIR QUALITY ADVISORY
Hold your breath: new upgrades just arrived for Caustic and Bangalore.
Caustic’s gas traps now have increased danger radius, lethality, and damage. Bangalore’s smoke gets an offensive boost—it now seeps under doors and can be enhanced to shock enemies and destroy traps.
RE-FORMULATED. RE-CHARGED. RE-45.
The RE-45 received a high-energy upgrade courtesy of Ballistic’s personal arsenal.
The newly energized RE-45 is precision-engineered to deliver 3-bullet energy bursts to enemy faces.
POWER SPIKE INBOUND
Boosters add game-changing passives to help you survive the next fight—offering movement bonuses, enhanced heals, extra shields, and more. Find them in mid-to-late game loot bins.
Attachments now come built into weapons, unlocked mid-match, and upgrade your gear dynamically throughout combat.
RANKED RELOADED
POIs are now designated at launch: no jumpmaster, no excuses. Loot and ring mechanics recalibrated for fairer fights.
With new Ranked Auras, enemy squads will know they’re messing with… Bronze I.
BATTLE PASS
Fight for glory with the all-new Battle Pass: Season 1.
