PATCH HIGHLIGHTS
NEW EXPANSION: CLAWS OF AWAJI
A storm is approaching.
A new threat emerges across Osaka Bay, with rumors swirling of a shinobi wielding a hidden blade and a long-lost relic. Naoe and Yasuke travel to a new land seeking answers but find themselves surrounded by danger, trapped in the Claws of Awaji.
In this expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, discover a new island region dominated by the nefarious Sanzoku Ippa faction, determined to uncover the last Sigil. Navigate traps and ambushes while pursuing the legendary Fujibayashi Tsuyu, and as Naoe, master the new Bo Staff to tactically eliminate enemies. New gear, abilities, and legendary equipment also await across 10+ hours of additional content.
We’d also like to inform macOS users eligible for the Claws of Awaji DLC that the content may not be immediately accessible upon first game launch after the DLC release.
To resolve this, launch the game while online, close it, then restart (online or offline) to ensure the DLC becomes available.
NEW FREE STORY MISSION: GO WITH THE BO
Join Junjiro on his quest to find a legendary Bo Master and learn about the Bo Staff—a dynamic new weapon perfectly suited to Naoe’s acrobatic combat style. Completing the mission rewards you with a Bo Staff for your adventures.
Originally developed exclusively for the Claws of Awaji expansion, we felt this weapon was too awesome not to share with everyone… for FREE! You get a Bo! And you! And you in the back! Everyone gets a Bo, arriving September16.
LEVEL CAP INCREASE
To support the Claws of Awaji expansion launch, we’ve increased the level cap to 100, giving players more room to grow and additional build customization options.
NEW HIDEOUT UPGRADES
With this update, each unique building now includes 2 additional upgrade levels—20 new upgrades total—plus 3 new Hideout levels.
These upgrades provide valuable bonuses: faster Hideout progression, improved crafting via easier gold access, and direct enhancements making Naoe, Yasuke, and allies more effective in combat and exploration.
ADVANCE TIME OF DAY
After upgrading the Nando to level 2, players can meditate to advance time by 6 hours (morning or evening). Find a safe location and hold Up (L on keyboard) to activate meditation. This allows Naoe and Yasuke to prepare for night assaults and be ready to strike [#@!%&*] Castle under cover of darkness.
ENHANCED SCOUTS
Upgrading the Study to level 4 now enables Scouts to reveal Viewpoints and Safe Houses. Discovering Safe Houses is especially valuable, as it lets Naoe and Yasuke engage faster by reducing travel time.
Additionally, with Kakurega upgraded to level 4, uncovering all Viewpoints in one province automatically reveals the entire province—providing full terrain visibility and key locations. No more fog!
IMPROVED GEAR QUALITY
After upgrading the Forge to level 6, Naoe and Yasuke can enhance gear to new quality tiers: Mythic and Artifact. At each new tier, items gain eight additional upgrade levels to unlock their full potential.
Epic items upgrade to Mythic, improving stats per level, adding an enhanced stat if missing, and boosting non-legendary perks (including engraving slots) by 50% at level 5 and 100% at level 9.(For damage reduction, ration replenishment, ammo, or tool perks, this bonus is halved—maxing at 50% at level 9.)
Legendary items evolve into Artifacts, gaining stat increases per level plus additional enhanced stats at levels 3, 7, and twice at level 9. Non-legendary engraved perks are also boosted like Mythic items.
These powerful enhancements are designed as long-term goals, supporting players through escalating New Game+ cycles and future challenges.
NEW PROJECT: SHRINE
We’re releasing a new Project via Animus HUB called Shrine, where you can obtain Ezio-themed gear, kusarigamas, and more! Activate the Project, complete Anomalies, and progress through rewards like previous events.
NEW ANOMALIES IN AWAJI
With Claws of Awaji’s release, we’ve added new region-exclusive Anomalies accessible after installing the expansion, with one available per timeline.
