Bungie CEO Pete Parsons will step down after more than two decades at the studio. Veteran Destiny 2 General Manager Justin Truman will succeed Parsons as the new head of the developer.
“Today marks the right time for a fresh start,” Parsons said in a statement. “Bungie’s future rests in the hands of a new generation of leaders, and I’m thrilled to announce that Justin Truman will take the helm as the new studio head at Bungie.”
“I’ve worked alongside Justin for many years. His passion for our games, our team, and our players is unmatched. As a leader in engineering, production, and design—and most recently as General Manager of Destiny 2 and our Development Director—he’s been instrumental in bringing to life some of Bungie’s most memorable moments. He lives and breathes this studio, and I have complete confidence he’s the right person to lead Bungie,” Parsons commented.
Truman added: “I am committed to supporting and working alongside every team member here as we continue putting our heart and soul into these worlds. Worlds we love and hope have been worth your time and passion. Because ultimately, these worlds only exist and thrive with you in them. We’re hard at work on it now—both with Marathon and Destiny. We’re currently heads down, but we’ll have more to show you in both worlds later this year.”
