Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch on November 14, delivering the most groundbreaking campaign in Black Ops history that can be played solo or cooperatively, alongside massive multiplayer and the next twisted chapter of Round-Based Zombies. Check out more details below, including information about the Early Access Beta, Open Beta, pre-order, and more.
Solo or Co-op Campaign
- An Unprecedented Campaign: Black Ops 7 descends further into the madness, playable solo or with up to four players. Pursuing his own answers, David “Section” Mason leads a JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) elite team in a clandestine mission across the sprawling Mediterranean city of Avalon.
- Fan-Favorite Characters Return: Including David Mason and Raul Menendez, alongside new icons like Emma Kagan, heightening the campaign’s narrative intrigue.
- Vastly Varied Environments: Execute high-stakes missions across locations ranging from neon-lit Japanese rooftops to the Mediterranean shores and the deepest corners of the human psyche. Players will also explore Avalon—an expansive city whose secrets echo throughout the campaign.
- Unlocked Endgame: At the story’s climax, Treyarch and Raven introduce “Endgame” as part of the co-op campaign. Here, Avalon opens up as players wield customized abilities to confront unexpected challenges, testing everything mastered during the narrative. A brand-new, replayable experience concluding the campaign.
Massive Multiplayer in Black Ops 7
At launch, 16 classic 6v6 maps will be available (13 brand-new plus three returning classics from Black Ops 2), alongside two new large-scale maps—all blending next-level visual fidelity with refined multiplayer design for the most engaging Black Ops multiplayer yet. More details below:
- Near-Future Weaponry: Set in 2035, multiplayer features futuristic arsenals with every weapons system re-imagined in fine detail for the era.
- Overclocked Gear: In Black Ops 7, loadouts overflow with possibilities. For the first time, Scorestreaks, Field Upgrades, and equipment can be enhanced via the new Overclock system—growing more versatile the longer players use them. Every match unlocks greater potential.
- Hybrid Combat Perks & Specialties: Combat Perks allow players to mix-and-match benefits to unlock powerful gameplay bonuses.
- Enhanced Universal Movement: Introducing wall jumps and more for dynamic, creative gameplay possibilities.
- Skirmish: New adrenaline-fueled 20v20 multiplayer mode combines diverse objectives with skills like wingsuits and climbing hooks, plus intense vehicular combat. Arrives on two launch maps—redefining large-scale warfare in Black Ops.
Round-Based Zombies Returns
The nightmare begins where reality ends. Round-Based Zombies returns with unprecedented vehicle gameplay routing players across vast new areas. Black Ops 7 Zombies ventures into bold, uncharted territory where creativity runs wild.
Continuing the Dark Aether saga, the Black Ops 6 team clashes with alternate versions of original heroes: Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey. In their never-before-seen incarnation, these legends return to confront a new nightmare. Though in Dark Aether, nothing is as it seems.
Additionally, Survival maps return for the first time since Black Ops 2, exclusively focused on enduring the undead.
Global Progression System, Including Co-op Campaign
As previously revealed, Black Ops 7 features a connected campaign system for the first time in Call of Duty. This means all XP progression and challenges you know from multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone—Prestige, Weapon Progression, Camo Challenges, Calling Card Challenges, Daily Challenges, and more—can also be advanced and unlocked through the co-op campaign.
Campaign XP ties into the game-wide progression system, including a unique weapon camo journey exclusive to the mode. Every elimination, objective, and advance in the campaign fuels players’ growth—directly contributing to Global XP, weapon progression, challenge systems, and Battle Pass.
