The sky is cracked and strange things are falling! Rumors speak of a Viking Village and a fancy golf resort (with carts included), and some even say a floating cube is on its way. Dive into all this and more in Fortnite Chapter 1: Season 5, available from August 7 to October 3, 2025, EST!
Surreal Drop Zones
Alongside a new desert biome and rifts appearing across the map, Chapter 1: Season 5 introduces new locations to the island:
Paradise Palms
Paradise Palms is a complete tropical oasis, featuring towering palm trees and refreshing pools, becoming the island’s most interesting landing spot! Its sun-drenched streets and multi-story structures host some of the map’s most intense combat.
Lazy Links
Many Victory Royales have been claimed among the vast fields of Lazy Links. If you’re not in the mood for battle (feeling lazy), visit the resort facilities, including tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a 9-hole golf course!
Viking Village
Perched high on the snowy mountains near Shifty Shafts, the Viking Village is an easy-to-spot landmark, featuring a grand Viking ship precariously balanced on a waterfall’s edge! Many legends worthy of Valhalla continue to be forged at this standout location.
Drive the ATK
Kickflip your way around in the All-Terrain Kart (ATK), the perfect vehicle for a quick escape from the Storm or just some drift-happy fun. These handy karts feature four seats so your whole squad can pile in. Oh, and it has a horn too—just in case you want to warn your foes of their impending doom!
Make (Shock)waves
As the Season progresses, Chapter 1: Season 5’s original loot pool will be added:
- Compact SMG (arriving this Season!) — The royalty of close-quarters combat, with a 40-round mag, capable of shredding builds and enemies!

Heavy Sniper Rifle (available at Season launch!) — Pick off foes from afar effortlessly, with a 2.5x headshot multiplier and no damage drop-off.

Double Barrel Shotgun (available at Season launch!) — Fire a devastating double blast that’ll blow holes in anything—or anyone—unlucky enough to be in your sights.

Portable Rift (arriving this Season!) — The stylish getaway or surprise attack option. Handle with care: contents may be unstable.

Shockwave Grenade (arriving this Season!) — Launch foes into the Storm or target your squad for a quick exit. Go for broke—no fall damage!

Test your skills! The Ranked mode, available for Ranked Battle Royale (Duos) and Ranked Battle Royale (Solo), features classic matchmaking rules where anyone can be in the lobby. Queue for Ranked in the mode selection menu within Fortnite Battle Royale, where you’d typically choose between Solo, Duos, and Squads.
Chapter 1: Season 5 Battle Pass
A new Fortnite season means a new Battle Pass with 45 reward tiers inspired by the classic Chapter 1: Season 5 items! Unlock free and premium rewards in the Battle Pass by earning XP across all Fortnite experiences. To redeem premium rewards as you gain XP, purchase the Pass for just 1,000 V-Bucks or get it through Fortnite Crew! Access three Outfits with the Pass’ Premium rewards:
- Afterburn Racer: cross the finish line.(Unlocked instantly when purchasing the Pass or gaining access via Fortnite Crew!)
- Riftshadow Drift: traverse the Unknown.
- Tide Strider: ride the tides and secure victory.
The Battle Pass also features never-before-seen accessories. Pledge your allegiance to the ancient Rogue Fox Clan with the Trickster’s Shield Back Bling, secure the best view with the Afterburner Recon Glider, or float through epic moments with the Balloon Bobber Pickaxe.
Unlock additional Styles for each Outfit and numerous accessories as you earn XP! Progress through the Pass until the Season ends on October 3, 2025, EST.
What’s Up With That Cube?
As Chapter 1: Season 5 progresses, the beloved glowing cube—informally known as “Kevin”—will appear near Paradise Palms before embarking on a journey across the Island. Rumors indicate it’s heading toward Loot Lake!
