Neowiz, the developer of Lies of P, released the DLC Overture during Summer Game Fest. Among the new features is the controversial decision to add two easier difficulty options. And now, these options are set to become even easier as the team prepares for a “difficulty reduction.”
As a “soulslike” game, Lies of P can be challenging, especially for inexperienced players. For those attempting the Overture DLC at the “intended” Legendary Stalker difficulty, however, things seem harder than ever. There have been so many comments—both supporting and criticizing the DLC’s difficulty spike—that Reddit and social media became flooded with complaints.
Now, in a new Lies of P Director’s Letter, it appears the difficulty will be adjusted again. “We are carefully reviewing all [player feedback] and are already looking into when to implement some of your suggestions,” said Choi (via IGN). “Among all the feedback, we are paying the most attention to the combat experience.”
“We have identified areas that did not meet our intentions. Thus, we are reviewing various adjustments, including a difficulty reduction. However, combat is one of the most fundamental experiences in Lies of P, so any modifications or changes require meticulous work and thorough testing,” they added.
There is no information on when these adjustments will be implemented.
