Dotemu has announced that a major “D1” update is now available for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. See the patch notes below (via Steam).

Since launch, the team has actively worked on this major update, delivering new features, improvements, and numerous bug fixes!

New Features & Improvements

Added option to Restart from a Checkpoint.
In addition to restarting the entire level, you can now restart from your last encountered checkpoint. This lets you retry a section or boss quickly without needing to lose.

Hard Mode can now be unlocked by defeating Ryu in his initial duel.
Beyond unlocking Hard Mode after completing the game once, you can now unlock it early by defeating Ryu in Stage 1-1. Want to jump straight into Hard Mode? First prove you’re worthy of the challenge!

New dialogue added to the start of Stages S-4, S-5, and S-6.

A new dialogue portrait for the Masked Agent in Stage 4-4 was added.

Hit stop and Screen Shake can now be toggled off via Accessibility Settings.

Golden Skins now unlock immediately after achieving S-Rank on all stages, without needing to clear the final stage afterward.

Added multiple sound effects for enemies, projectiles, and menus.

Adjusted kill count requirement for max score in Stage 3-2 on Hard Mode.

Kenji could climb a wall and exit camera view at the end of Stage 3-5.

Large Hypercharge-breakable obstacle could be destroyed by Kama Spider Weapon in Stage 3-1.

Luring a Cursed Fire enemy onto a collapsing platform could softlock Kenji in Stage 3-4.

During the Rhyvashi boss fight, large rocks could block its attacks briefly after despawning.

In Stage 5-1, players could lose control of Kenji/Kumori when starting the Rhyvashi fight.

In Stage 5-1, excessive waiting time occurred after defeating Rhyvashi.

Kenji could climb a wall and sequence-break Stage 3-5 (Hard Mode), causing camera issues.

Kill counter disappeared whenever pausing or during cutscenes.

In Stage 3-2 (Hard Mode), Hung Devil enemies could freeze and stop attacking.

Stage 4-4 boss’ blastwave projectiles could spawn mid-air instead of aligned with surfaces.

Hitting the Stage 4-4 boss from behind with a hypercharged attack pushed it across the arena, causing bugs.

During Stage 4-4’s elevator segment, enemy drones could attack Kenji while off-camera.

Bio Blocker enemy’s projectile hitbox remained active after defeat.

In Stage 3-2, during the Eels boss fight, camera could unlock when Kenji reached low areas.

Gurthka’s landing animation could fail when boss fights started in Stages 1-2 and 1-3.

Jagäzk’s ribcage was immune to Grenade Spider weapon damage.

In Stage 4-2, Guillotine Boost could exit screen boundaries when used on helicopters.

Kumori’s hypercharged slide-jump projectile could pass through enemies without dealing damage.

In Stage S-8, Guillotine Boost platforming could be skipped by wall-climbing through ceilings.

In Stage 2-2, players could lose motorcycle control upon reaching the outdoor area.

As Kumori during Demon Altar sequence, manual Hypercharge failed when Kenji’s health was critically low.

One-Eyed Devil’s eye disappeared instantly (missing fade animation) if the body died while the eye was detached.

Kenji could clip through subway tunnel ceiling during his epilogue.

Rewinding during Kenji’s epilogue caused inconsistent camera transitions.

Exiting credits to main menu restarted music and froze portrait scroll.
