Square Enix has officially announced Octopath Traveler 0 during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast (July 31st). The game will launch on December 4, 2025.
Though initially announced for Switch and Switch 2, Square Enix has confirmed (via their official website) that the title will also release on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 is a standalone adventure set in the world of Orsterra — several years before the events of the first OCTOPATH TRAVELER. For the first time in the series, you’ll create your own customizable protagonist and embark on a quest to capture those who destroyed your beloved hometown — rebuilding it along the way.
Explore an expansive adventure filled with incredible stories. The series’ signature Path Actions return, letting you uniquely interact with diverse NPCs. Recruit over 30 characters to join your battles, with a party of up to eight heroes at once!
The “Break and Boost” battle system returns better than ever. With eight-character parties — arranged in front and back rows — combat is faster and more strategic!
