Although not officially announced yet, the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will reportedly introduce significant changes to the overall experience.
According to French outlet Jeux Vidéo Magazine (via Push Square), Ubisoft plans to completely remove modern-day storyline sections and replace them with expanded narrative for protagonist Edward Kenway. The gameplay will supposedly align more with recent Assassin’s Creed titles, incorporating RPG elements alongside gear and stat items for Edward’s weapons and armor.
The explorable map won’t be larger than the original, per the report, but islands accessible via pirate ship will allegedly contain more activities and side quests. Players reportedly won’t encounter loading screens when transitioning between ship and land.
Finally, the outlet claims the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake is currently targeting early 2026, though it may be delayed to late next year.
