Saber Interactive announced that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will continue to receive content in its second year.

A few days ago, we launched Patch 8.0 – Siege Update, including Siege Mode, White Scars and Blood Angels cosmetics, plus multiple improvements and small changes. If you haven’t read it yet, check out the full patch notes here.

Now, let’s rewind a bit, and most importantly: let’s discuss what’s coming next, as the first year of content is slowly coming to a close. Ready?

WHAT’S COMING AFTER THE FIRST YEAR?

As promised, we’re excited to share more details with you, and even more will be revealed in upcoming Community Updates in July and August. For now, here are some things we can confirm:

We’re thrilled to announce that a second year of free content and DLC, bundled in a new annual season pass, is on the way! This extended support for Space Marine 2 was made possible by your unwavering encouragement, so once again, thank you for joining the fight! Expect new PvE missions, enemies, weapons and… more! It’s too early to share specifics, but stay tuned!

Additionally, to celebrate the game’s first anniversary, a massive update is planned for September, major update 10.0. Update 9.0 won’t introduce new content, only balancing changes.

Unfortunately, this also means the new PvP mode we originally planned to launch alongside update 9.0 will now be delayed to this significant 10.0 update. While we can’t showcase it visually yet, we can at least reveal what this new mode entails:

• • • This new mode will take place on a new map.
    • Matches will feature dueling factions, but not Loyalists versus Chaos like traditional PvP. Instead, Chaos will battle… Chaos.
    • Last but not least, you’ll take control of the Helbrute. Yes.

Since this new gameplay mode centers on Chaos, new Chaos armor sets will also be added to the game.

A new melee weapon will also join the arsenal in major update 10.0: the Power Axe! It will feature unique move sets, execution animations, and more. We’ll reveal more about this weapon later, but here’s a sneak peek!

Work-in-progress, final version subject to change

Finally, we previously announced we’re developing a new class for PvE and PvP. We’ve progressed far enough to confirm the new class will be a Techmarine! More details about this class will drop in future community updates, so keep your vox-links open!
