Polyarc reportedly ends active development after nearly 12 years

The studio behind Moss and Moss: Book II reportedly says its team is winding down active development, but a full legal closure has not been independently confirmed.

Polyarc has reportedly ended its active development operations after nearly 12 years, according to a Push Square report published on September 11, 2026. The report attributes the announcement to a post on the studio’s official LinkedIn page.

The post attributed to Polyarc says that “our time together has come to an end” and that the team is winding down active development while saying its farewells. It also states that the studio’s work is finished and directs people who are hiring toward a reverse-recruiting spreadsheet for affected developers.

That wording supports the end of the team and active development, but it does not independently establish that Polyarc has been legally dissolved or that every operation has stopped. The LinkedIn page is dynamic, and the author, exact publication details and corporate status were not independently confirmed in the available reporting.

Polyarc is the developer of Moss and Moss: Book II. PlayStation presented both games as premier launch-day titles for PlayStation VR2 in February 2023.

Moss: Book II was released on PS5 and requires PlayStation VR2 for its PS5 version, according to its PlayStation Store listing. Polyarc also announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic for PS5, Xbox platforms, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam in May 2026. The supplied evidence does not establish whether that project has launched, who would handle future support or what the announcement means for the game.

The studio’s official website had continued publishing 2026 updates before the report, including a May development update about bringing Moss to PC and consoles. That recent activity does not necessarily conflict with an announcement made on September 11, but it leaves the scope of the change unclear. There is also no verified confirmation here about the status of Moss, Moss: Book II, Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss, employee numbers or any future PlayStation involvement.
