Publisher Atari and developer Ilex Games have announced Adventure of Samsara, a side-scrolling metroidvania action-adventure game that captures the spirit of the Atari 2600 game Adventure.
Adventure of Samsara will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG in 2025.

Adventure of Samsara is a mysterious 2D action-adventure metroidvania that captures the spirit of the Atari 2600 classic Adventure, taking it in a wholly new and unique direction.
Featuring stunning 2D pixel art, Adventure of Samsara combines classic gameplay, a deeply interconnected world, and a complex narrative about death, rebirth, and memory. In this game developed by Brazilian studio Ilex Games, players take control of the Solar Champion, a long-deceased Plutonian resurrected by the Primordial Sunlight. Tasked with reactivating a mysterious interdimensional fortress, the Champion must restore balance to the multiverse.
As players battle through a series of diverse and interconnected biomes and face brutal mutant bosses, new abilities and upgrades are unlocked – each revealing deeper layers of the game’s enigmatic cosmic narrative. The game inhabits the same spiritual universe as the original Adventure, filled with its core elements: exploration, curiosity, and hidden secrets.
