Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Beethoven & Dinosaur, known for The Artful Escape, have unveiled a new trailer for Mixtape, a game promising to distill the essence of teenage experience during one last summer with friends. The title is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Mixtape is conceived as an adventure letting players explore the world through the lens of a teenager experiencing their final summer before major life changes. The game will delve into a series of vignettes exploring pivotal formative moments that shape who the characters become.
The premise immerses players in a “gameplay mixtape” of joyful nostalgic experiences. This includes activities like skateboarding, flying, snapping contraband photo ops after hours at an abandoned theme park, shagging flyballs, and even watching fireworks from a car’s backseat. It promises to relive the “teenage greatest hits,” ranging from first kisses to last dances.
True to its name, the soundtrack will anchor Mixtape, featuring music from iconic artists like DEVO, Roxy Music, and others—set to underscore the nostalgic adventure vibe.
