Gameloft has announced that in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its premier racing franchise Asphalt, the company is making a major investment with a myriad of activities and content for Asphalt Legends Unite.
Available now through August 21, players can immediately dive into action and celebrate the Asphalt legacy with a new race track transporting drivers through three distinct eras of the series. Players can burn rubber in San Diego (inspired by Asphalt 8: Airborne), Cairo (inspired by Asphalt 9: Legends) and Los Angeles (inspired by Asphalt 7: Heat), all in a single race. Each section features graphics reminiscent of classic Asphalt titles, creating a fresh racing experience that playfully pays homage to the franchise’s diverse history.
Continuing the legacy celebration trend, players can also customize five vehicles from the Spotlight Special Event with exclusive decals mimicking the distinct visual identities of previous franchise installments. These include iconic models like the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, Pagani Huayra R, and Bugatti Centodieci. To deepen the nostalgic experience, two remixes from Asphalt 8: Airborne and three tracks originally exclusive to Asphalt 9: Legends‘ Nintendo Switch version will be added. Furthermore, 14 fully remastered tracks from previous titles will release as a special anniversary compilation on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms, showcasing the series’ timeless soundscape.
Finally, as a tribute to the game that established the franchise foundation, Gameloft is bringing back Asphalt Urban GT – the original Java mobile title that launched the Asphalt legacy. Available in emulated form at www.asphaltlegends.com, this retro experience invites new players to discover the series’ roots while longtime fans can revisit iconic tracks like Paris, New York, Miami, and Hong Kong. Players who complete all stages will unlock exclusive rewards – including credits, tokens, special cars, and many other surprises.

Additionally, Asphalt Legends Unite has received new PSN trophies as DLC (meaning they aren’t required for the Platinum trophy). Curiously, these trophies are tied to PSN’s tournament functionality – if we’re not mistaken, this marks the first time such integration has occurred.
