The producer of Battlefield 6, Jeremy Chubb, admitted that Battlefield 2042 didn’t live up to the series’ excellence, such as fan favorite Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
In an interview with PC Gamer (via IGN), he stated the team is focused on recapturing Bad Company 2‘s quality and impact in the new title, emphasizing well-designed maps and a more polished multiplayer experience.
“When you look for excellence in our legacy, [Bad Company 2] is where you find it,” Chubb said. “That game, in particular, delivered a level of fidelity and a sort of intimate destruction experience. Blowing up a single wall, taking down part of a building or entire buildings. It was comprehensive and felt like that game’s identity more than anything. We know that was somewhat missing in our last game, and we really wanted to get back to that.”
Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
