Take IT Studio! has announced that Cave Crave, an exploration-focused VR adventure from 3R Games (creators of the hit Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street) is set to launch for PlayStation VR2 on July 10.

Described by its developers as “the most realistic cave exploration experience in VR,” Cave Crave combines physical climbing, crawling, and its unique tight-space traversal mechanics to deliver an unparalleled underground journey.

Official description:

Launch Game Modes:

Story Mode
Begin your journey with the first chapter of the story-driven expedition. A second map pack expanding the narrative is already in development and will launch as a free update shortly after release.

Tourist Mode
Explore previously visited caverns at your own pace without danger. Perfect for players wanting to enjoy the atmospheric environments and soundtrack in peace.

Horror Mode
A fully optional standalone mode plunging players into mysterious depths. Face the unknown where your tools are your only protection. Not recommended for the faint of heart.

Gameplay Highlights

Mind-Bending Cave Systems
Say goodbye to generic, repetitive level design. Cave Crave features both natural and handcrafted cave layouts that challenge spatial perception and orientation.

Realistic Environments
Immerse yourself in detailed rock formations, physics-based object interactions, and naturally sculpted terrain. The cave lives and breathes around you – sometimes quite literally.

Chalk Your Path
With no in-game map, players must rely on chalk markings to blaze their own trail and avoid getting lost in the subterranean depths.

True Free Climbing
Scale any surface using natural body movements and climbing gear. Walls, ceilings, narrow ledges – every surface presents potential pathways.

Breath Management
Navigate extremely tight spaces or prepare for underwater cave dives – a mechanic arriving in the first free post-launch update.

Break Through Barriers
Use tools like hammers and pickaxes to destroy stalactites, clear debris, and carve new paths through obstructed tunnels.

The Road Ahead
Cave Crave is just the beginning. The game will receive ongoing support through regular free content updates including new maps, story expansions, and features designed to deepen the experience for both casual explorers and hardcore spelunkers.
