How Springtrap Came to Dead by Daylight
Deep within the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, William Afton fled from the ghosts of his victims. Desperate, he donned his beloved Spring Bonnie costume—the disguise worn during his heinous crimes—to hide from the pursuing spirits.
Yet fate had other plans for Afton. Something triggered the Spring Bonnie suit’s locks. Metal components shifted, wounding the killer and trapping him within the costume. As he screamed, the checkered floor rose toward him, and everything went dark.
Thus Springtrap was born from a killer’s death.
He awoke to a familiar sound, his body wracked with agony. The ghosts had vanished. Walls decayed around him; floors crumbled beneath his feet. How long had passed since the locks pierced his body, fusing him to the suit? His murderous will persisted—an ever-relentless thirst.
The noise filled his ears again. Children’s laughter. Were kids playing in the kitchen? Springtrap rose, adapting to his new form, and moved toward the gleeful giggles tormenting him.
He sped up. Walking shifted to running. Entering the kitchen, he found…
nothing.
No children. No play. No laughter. Only a twisting, dark fog on the back wall.
Springtrap studied it. Curiosity consumed him. Gazing into the darkness, his hollow eyes saw visions swirling in the mist.
Who were they? It didn’t matter. They were his victims now. Somehow he knew the hunt would last forever.
He only needed to step into the fog.
