Despite being very close to the end of H1 2025, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach remains PlayStation’s most significant upcoming title in this period. Scheduled for June 26 with no possible changes at this point, players’ top priority should be acquiring the game beforehand if they wish to experience Sam Bridges’ new adventure right at launch.
However, the digital pre-sales have shown strange fluctuations since becoming available, and price adjustments have left some players dissatisfied. If Hideo Kojima’s new title is the last to follow Brazil’s R$349.90 standard for PlayStation first-party games, and the confirmed R$399.90 increase coming with Ghost of Yōtei will usher in a new pricing era—at least temporarily—the lingering question is whether Death Stranding 2 will maintain its price post-launch.
Hypothetically, two scenarios could unfold. Either the game retains its pre-sale price without future changes, or the R$349.90 price holds until launch with subsequent post-pre-sale increase to R$399.90—the current Digital Deluxe Edition price.
Despite PlayStation Brasil’s latest statement regarding previous improper price adjustments for Death Stranding 2, Brazilian and global economic shifts may make the current price unsustainable after launch, leading to an inevitable increase. Whether it affects Death Stranding 2 or not, R$399.90 will become the new standard moving forward.
Considering these factors, the player’s best current advantage is securing the title during pre-sale at the current price to avoid potential hikes. Purchasing gift cards now presents a safe and appealing option.
