As expected and even warned by us, the price of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has increased on the Brazilian PS Store.
With the start of Ghost of Yōtei‘s pre-order on the PS Store, it became clear that Sony’s new standard pricing for PS5 games will be R$399.90 – at least for Sony-published titles. While Ghost of Yōtei is PlayStation’s next $69.99 release, the Brazilian price has unfortunately risen to R$399.90.
During pre-orders, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach‘s price had previously increased, which PlayStation Brasil later reverted. At that time, PlayStation issued the following statement:
“Due to an isolated error on the Brazilian PlayStation Store, an incorrect price for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was displayed. This issue has been resolved.
We reiterate our previous statement that the price adjustment for our AAA titles in Brazil to R$399.90 will take effect starting with Ghost of Yotei’s release on October 2nd. Therefore, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’s correct price on the Brazilian PlayStation Store remains R$349.90 at launch.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this error.”
Despite promising this change would only occur in October, the price has already been adjusted for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on the PS Store:
The physical edition, however, remains at the suggested price of R$349.90 at retailers with stock.
