To all Kyle Crane fans,
As we near the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, everyone at the studio shares your excitement. Over 150 previews were published this week by journalists and content creators, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re blushing over quotes like “nail-biting survival horror,” “a total blast,” “a passion project,” and being called “2025’s standout game.” This confirmed what we already felt: we’re making something truly special and fun.
This also proves the Dying Light community is the best. The preview coverage was seen by millions of players dissecting every game detail with eagle eyes, highlighting, discussing and getting hyped about countless features. We’re tirelessly reading and compiling your feedback, ensuring your voices are heard and we know exactly what matters most to you.
Our goal has always been to make Dying Light: The Beast the ultimate Dying Light experience we’ve ever released. To honor this promise, we’ve decided to push the release date to September 19, 2025 for extra polish.
We understand this may disappoint, but experience has taught us that first impressions matter. With just four extra weeks, we can address finishing touches that elevate the game from good to exceptional. Key areas for refinement include gameplay balance tuning, UI clarity enhancements, physics optimization, plus additional player animation/scene tweaks and small detail additions.
We’ll keep you busy this summer with regular studio updates and a Gamescom playable demo in Hall 6. Starting next week, we’ll share gameplay gore updates and reunite you with our good friend Bober the Beaver.
We’re almost there – please bear with us for these final eight weeks. We can’t wait for you to unleash The Beast on September 19.
Warm regards from the entire Techland team,
– Dying Light: The Beast Development Crew
