Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles Official Site Reveals New Trailers

Square Enix has launched the official Japanese website for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. It features a story trailer different from the one shown at State of Play, plus a trailer highlighting jobs.

Check out the game description:

– Story
Ivalice, a kingdom blessed by the light of the gods and ruled by the Lion with Two Heads. One year after defeat by Ordallia in the war known as the Fifty Years’ War, the king succumbed to illness, leaving a mere two-year-old boy to ascend the throne.

Whoever became regent would be the true ruler, and thus emerged two rival candidates: Dukes Goltanna and Larg, whose wartime deeds earned them great renown. Goltanna, the Black Lion, and Larg, the White Lion, were destined to clash, sparking a conflict that would become known as the War of the Lions.

It is against this backdrop that we find Ramza, third son of the esteemed military House Beoulve, and his childhood friend Delita, a commoner raised among nobles. As they venture forth seeking purpose in this turbulent era, a powerful current pulls them ever deeper toward an abyss.

– Combat
Lead your team in thrilling clashes where tactical positioning and pre-planning decide the outcome. Utilize the varied terrain of 3D battlefields to your advantage and skillfully manipulate turn order. Victory will then lie in your grasp.

– Character Growth and Customization
Combine a vast variety of Jobs and abilities to craft your own strategies.

As party members grow, they’ll unlock more Jobs, each specializing in unique abilities. Once learned, abilities remain usable even after changing Jobs. With over 20 classes – including White Mage, Black Mage, Dragoon, and many others from the FINAL FANTASY series – and hundreds of abilities to master, you have the freedom to experiment and discover the synergies that best suit your team. Chocobos and other creatures can also be tamed and join battles.

– Two Versions: Enhanced and Classic
Featuring refined graphics, fully voiced dialogue, and polished gameplay, the Enhanced version offers the ideal way to dive into Ivalice’s world. Alongside dedicated refinements to numerous battle mechanics and features, the addition of the more accessible “Squire” difficulty mode makes this version an excellent starting point for new players.

The Classic version blends the original 1997 game’s graphics and gameplay with War of the Lions’ famed localization to deliver an authentic experience of this beloved title.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles releases September 30th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
