PlayStation has released a new trailer for Gennady, a roguelike platformer listed for both PS5 and PS4. IGN reports that the game is scheduled to launch on October 28, 2026, although that date is not exposed in the official trailer page’s verified title or description.

The official PlayStation trailer describes Gennady as a dynamic roguelike platformer built around shifting corridors, chthonic creatures and progression tied to death. The store listing also highlights fast-paced combat, boss fights, Rage Mode, artifacts and upgrades that can be carried into later runs.

Its presentation is equally distinctive. The game uses hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation and a high-contrast black-and-white palette. PlayStation’s promotional description compares the animation to the era of Earthworm Jim; that wording indicates a stylistic reference, not a formal connection, licence or involvement from the franchise.

The US PlayStation Store listing confirms PS5 and PS4 editions, along with offline play, single-player support and Remote Play. It also lists PS5 vibration support through the DualSense controller and PS4 DualShock 4 vibration support.

According to IGN, the October 28 date applies to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and GOG. Gematsu previously reported planned versions for those platforms and Nintendo Switch, attributing development to Feed 64 and publishing to Sobaka Studio. The secondary reports do not establish simultaneous launches or feature parity across platforms.

Pricing, pre-orders, regional availability and edition differences have not been confirmed by the sources reviewed. The PlayStation Store page identifies Sobaka Studio LLP as publisher, but does not independently verify the developer attribution reported by Gematsu.
