Hades' Star: Dark Nebula PS4 Version Discontinued October 1

Developer Parallel Space Inc. has announced it will discontinue the PS4 and Xbox versions of its free-to-play game Hades’ Star: Dark Nebula on October 1st. In a blog post detailing the decision, the studio cited a “significant resource drain” on the team as the driving factor.

“The reason for this shutdown is that developing and maintaining console versions consumes significant resources from our small team,” the developer stated. “We’re forced to choose between keeping console versions updated and delivering substantial, frequent updates to all Hades’ Star players. While this wasn’t an easy decision, we won’t compromise the experience for our significantly larger player base on other platforms.”

While losing console support, Hades’ Star: Dark Nebula will remain accessible via Steam and mobile. Players can transfer their console progress to accessible platforms before October 1st (see instructions on the official site). For transfers after October 1st, the developer states players “will still be able” to recover accounts by contacting support@hadesstar.com.

As compensation, Parallel Space is awarding 1,000 Crystals (the game’s premium currency) to accounts created before August 21st and played exclusively on consoles upon linking to mobile or Steam platforms.
