Hell is Us Gets Free Digital Comic Prequel Today

The game Hell is Us has received a free digital comic book, now available on the official Nacon website.

A product of the collaboration between publisher Nacon, its studio Rogue Factor, and Dead Good Comics, this 16-page comic serves as a prologue to the journey of the main protagonist, Remi. Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure game combining melee combat, exploration, and an immersive narrative.

In this digital comic, players will discover the events leading up to the start of the game, which lead Remi to leave his position as a peacekeeper to infiltrate Hadea — the fictional country where he was born and from which he was smuggled out as a child. This isolated nation is devastated by a violent civil war and faces a mysterious calamity, causing the emergence of strange and dangerous creatures whose forms resemble ancient monuments and ceremonial stones from the region. Armed with weapons specially forged to confront them, Rémi must learn to combat them and use his equipment wisely.

Created in partnership with Dead Good Comics, the comic features artwork by Andrea Scalmazzi (Dune: House Corrino, Samuel Stern) and Antonio Antro (Lego Batman Magazine, Power Rangers), based on a story by Stu Taylor (Crusader Kings III: Many Roads to Power, Octobriana and the Underground, Warhammer Monthly), with oversight from Hell is Us‘ creative and art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête.

The cover is signed by Yanick Paquette (Absolute Batman, Harley Quinn, Justice League Unlimited) and Marcelo Maiolo (Wolverine, Batman and Robin, Amazing Spider-Man).

Hell is Us will be released on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. A demo will be available on August 12.
