Jupiter & Mars: Definitive Edition Reportedly Arrives on Switch This Week

Jupiter & Mars: Definitive Edition is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch on September 10, according to a Gematsu report that attributes the announcement to Tigertron. Nintendo Life independently repeated the date and the main additions, but an accessible primary announcement from Tigertron or Nintendo was not located.

The reported Switch release is described as an enhanced version of the underwater adventure, with a new default third-person perspective, graphical improvements and quality-of-life upgrades. It will also add “Blue Life,” a new ending theme by Japanese electronic musician Ken Ishii.

The video above has been identified as a launch trailer for Jupiter & Mars: Definitive Edition. The identity of the uploader and its direct relationship with Tigertron have not been independently confirmed, so the trailer should be treated as supporting material rather than primary confirmation of the announcement.

The timing makes the news relevant to PlayStation players familiar with the original game. Jupiter & Mars launched on PS4 in 2019 with optional PlayStation VR support, and the PlayStation Store listing notes that the original game is playable on PS5 through backward compatibility, although some PS4 features may be absent.

Tigertron’s own games page describes the original as an adventure starring the dolphins Jupiter and Mars, with versions available on Meta Quest, PS4, PS5 and PlayStation VR. Those listings refer to the existing game, however, not to the reported Definitive Edition.

There is currently no confirmation of Jupiter & Mars: Definitive Edition for PS4, PS5, PlayStation VR, Meta Quest or any other platform. The September 10 date has been reported for the United States and European Union, while a Gematsu game profile lists the release as worldwide; without an accessible primary listing, it is safer not to treat the date as a confirmed global launch.

Price, age rating, download size and the full scope of the improvements also remain unconfirmed. The available reports do not explain whether the new third-person camera replaces or complements the original presentation, or how it relates to the game’s virtual-reality features.
