Hey everyone, director Alex Cox here, back with another look at Mafia: The Old Country, following my video about the gameplay trailer in May. Just like with every Mafia title, the team at Hangar 13 has been grinding to ensure this new game set in 1900s Sicily enhances and lives up to the fan-favorite classic mechanics. In this video series, we’ll showcase core aspects of the improved gameplay from the perspective of Enzo, a newly recruited member of the Mafia. A different figure from the Torrisi crime family will narrate each video, starting with the Don himself.
Responsibilities Within the Family
Being part of the Torrisi crime family comes with certain obligations. In this video, you’ll get a taste of what’s expected from members, especially new soldiers who haven’t yet proven themselves. We start with the Don tasking Enzo to “make it clear that Torrisi takes care of family and business.” How you fulfill this role evolves throughout the story, as we see Enzo collecting protection payments at gunpoint before carrying out the Don’s will in a bloody knife duel.
Every task Enzo performs for the Family reveals his unyielding resolve and diverse skill set, whether parkouring across rooftops, pursuing cars on horseback, or stealthing through hostile areas to eliminate enemies either discreetly or through all-out firefights.
We spot Enzo walking openly through crowded San Celeste and ambushing enemies from shadows underground; this section also showcases the Instinct Mode, which highlights threats behind environmental cover. The footage cuts to Enzo continuing his deadly stakeouts and relentless pursuit of enemies across Valle Dorata, hinting at pivotal services he’ll perform for the Family.
I’ll have to stop here to avoid spoilers, but as always, it’s thrilling to share more of this Sicilian crime saga as the team puts on final touches.
