Sony has announced it will release PS5 and DualSense consoles themed around Ghost of Yōtei.
There will be two PS5 Slim consoles themed after the game – featuring identical artwork but differing colors: one in a gold tone and the other in black. The DualSense follows the same concept with two matching versions.
However, the black version will be exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation Direct store, which is unfortunately unavailable in Brazil. As such, only the gold version will be sold locally.
Ghost of Yōtei will release on October 2 for PS5.

We just got an exciting aerial glimpse of gameplay during the Ghost of Yōtei State of Play from Sucker Punch, which included a first look at the PS5 console’s Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition Bundles, featuring intricate new console designs with a matching DualSense wireless controller.
These stunning designs capture the fictionalized Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido) created by Sucker Punch and the world players will inhabit as they explore Atsu’s revenge story. Mount Yōtei serves as both an iconic landmark for Hokkaido and a symbol for Atsu herself, which is why we aimed to reflect the region’s beauty by honoring two distinct Japanese visual traditions. Fans will also appreciate how both consoles feature a special manufacturer’s seal laser-etched with PlayStation shapes on the rear of the top console cover and DualSense wireless controllers.
The PS5 Console – Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition Bundle will be available globally, inspired by Japanese Kintsugi art—a traditional method of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and gold. The design embodies Kintsugi’s core essence and aesthetic, symbolizing beauty in imperfection while mirroring Atsu’s personal journey of healing and resilience amid adversity.
The PS5 Console – Ghost of Yōtei Black Limited Edition Bundle will be available exclusively at direct.playstation.com, drawing inspiration from Sumi-e—another traditional Japanese art form using black ink paintings. Using bold black brushstrokes to depict Ezo’s landmarks, this design captures both the region’s mystic beauty and Atsu’s internal struggle for redemption.
Both bundles include a matching DualSense wireless controller featuring an etched silhouette of Atsu on its touchpad.
We’re proud of these designs from Sucker Punch’s teams, crafted in close collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment’s design group. Sucker Punch shared why they pursued these unique art forms:
Our design inspiration came directly from a key aspect of the game: deep focus on exploration. This includes the hand-drawn icons Atsu marks on her map, kintsugi-style effects drawn from her ghost mask, and brushstrokes evoking her Sumi-e paintings. Towering Mount Yōtei anchors the console’s center design, while Atsu features prominently on the DualSense. Each element is purposefully integrated into the console and controller design.

Each PS5 Console – Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition Bundle includes a disc-drive PlayStation 5 console, matching DualSense controller, and a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei Standard Edition featuring pre-order content: a unique in-game mask plus seven PSN avatars showcasing concept art of Atsu and each Yōtei Six member.
Existing owners of PS5 (slim model group) or PS5 Pro consoles also get options. You’ll be able to purchase PS5 Console Covers (Slim Model Group) and PS5 Pro Console Covers – Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition – directly via PlayStation at direct.playstation.com*, with limited quantities at select online retailers elsewhere. Both covers replicate the Kintsugi designs and manufacturer’s seal found on the PS5 Gold Limited Edition Bundle.
