No Rest for the Wicked, the next game from Moon Studios, developer of Ori and the Blind Forest, is now available in Early Access for PC, but has already been announced for PS5 and will arrive on Sony’s console when it’s ready.
This marks a strategic shift, as they haven’t released any games on PlayStation platforms to date. Both Ori titles were eventually ported to Nintendo Switch, but never to PS5 or PS4.
CEO Thomas Mahler sparked discussion this morning by suggesting on Discord that his company’s next game might skip Xbox entirely due to market conditions. “Given current market conditions, we might launch only on PS5 and potentially Switch 2 for now. We’ll need to discuss with Microsoft to determine what makes sense for Xbox.”
After these comments went viral, Mahler clarified on X (formerly Twitter) that he expects the game to release everywhere eventually, but “just looking at the numbers, PS5 makes the most sense right now.”
There’s nothing to officially confirm yet.
