Sony launched its financial report today for the first fiscal quarter of the year (April, May, and June). In it, the company announced that the PS5 reached 80.3 million units sold by June 30, 2025.
A total of 2.5 million PS5 consoles were shipped to retailers during this period. This is an increase of 0.1 million units compared to the same period last year.
The last known sales figure for the PS5 was 77.8 million in February.
Additional statistics:
- PS4 and PS5 software sales totaled 65.9 million units between April and June 2025. This is an increase of 12.3 million compared to last year (53.6 million);
- Of this software figure, 6.9 million were first-party games (0.9 million above last year);
- 83% of software sales were full game downloads (prior-year average was 80%);
- Average Monthly Active Users reached 123 million by June 30, 2025 (increase of 7 million YoY);
- PS Plus subscriber numbers were not disclosed in the report.
