Saber Executive Reportedly Says Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Has No Generative AI

Tim Willits reportedly told IGN at Gamescom that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 will contain no generative AI, though Saber Interactive has not published a separate primary statement confirming the position.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 will reportedly contain no generative AI, according to comments attributed to Saber Interactive development chief Tim Willits in an IGN interview at Gamescom.

“There is absolutely no generative AI in Space Marine 3 or Hellraiser or Stuntman or Turok or Jurassic Park, or Wick,” Willits said, according to IGN’s report. The statement covers Space Marine 3 alongside several other Saber projects, but it was not published as a separate written announcement by Saber Interactive in the available evidence.

The comments arrived after scrutiny surrounding Rideshare Stimulator, a Saber game associated in recent reporting with concerns over generative AI. The game—not its developer—was the subject of those reports; Saber Interactive is the developer. The available coverage does not independently establish the full allegations made by a former employee or the complete response from Saber CEO Matthew Karch.

Space Marine 3 itself is confirmed to be in development through a partnership between Saber Interactive, Focus Entertainment and Games Workshop. The official Focus announcement says the game will include a new campaign and multiplayer, while the Warhammer Community announcement confirms the same broad plans.

Those official announcements do not list platforms, a release date, a release window or regional availability. Games Workshop has described the project as likely years away, but that is timing context rather than a formal launch commitment.

For now, the no-generative-AI position remains an attributed comment from Willits’s reported interview. Whether Saber, Focus Entertainment or Games Workshop will issue a project-specific policy or further explanation about development tools has not been established.
