San Diego hosted a panel featuring Scott Pilgrim franchise creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, Tribute Games developer and publisher, Limited Run Games, and Universal Products & Experiences about Scott Pilgrim EX. The event included an lively discussion and the first look at gameplay teaser footage showcasing the start of Scott Pilgrim’s newest adventure. The panel peaked with the reveal of Scott Pilgrim EX physical editions, available for pre-order until September 21 through Limited Run Games.
Today’s panel included Bryan Lee O’Malley, Tribute Games President Jean-Francois Major, Tribute Games Narrative Designer Yannick Belzil, Limited Run Games CEO Josh Fairhurst, Universal Products & Experiences Executive Producer John Melchior, and was moderated by Blank Check Podcast host Griffin Newman. The discussion explored where the game fits within the expanding universe as an entirely new adventure. Bringing musical elements to the show, acclaimed rock band and Scott Pilgrim alumni Anamanaguchi’s Peter Berkman made a surprise appearance to discuss the group’s involvement in creating the Scott Pilgrim EX soundtrack and debuted an exclusive track from the game.
The brawler gameplay preview highlighted the beginning of Scott and Ramona’s journey through Toronto. With Sex Bob-Omb’s instruments stolen, the duo must race across town – and perhaps even through time – to retrieve them from new world-threatening gangs and Ramona’s returning evil exes.
