Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka Joins Brazil Game Show October 9-12

Brazil Game Show announces another major presence for its upcoming edition. Takashi Iizuka, Creative Officer of Sonic Team, will participate in the event, running October 9-12 at São Paulo’s Anhembi District.

Brought by SEGA, Iizuka-san is a central figure in the blue hedgehog’s history. He returns with an intensive schedule including appearances at the opening ceremony, fan Meet & Greets, and a special panel during BGS Talks.

Beyond meeting the creator who shaped Sonic’s identity throughout decades, attendees at the Americas’ largest gaming expo can visit SEGA’s booth – marking its third consecutive year at the event. The space will feature playable demos of the recently released Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds alongside special franchise-themed activations.

“Takashi Iizuka’s presence at BGS 2025 underscores the event’s global significance and SEGA’s affection for the Brazilian audience,” said Marcelo Tavares, founder and CEO of Brazil Game Show. “Beyond being one of gaming’s most respected creators, he’s an icon for millions who grew up – and continue to grow up – with Sonic.”
