Offworld and Knights Peak announced that Starship Troopers: Extermination has received the 1.6 “Critical Strike” update. Starting now, Starship Troopers: Extermination features a revamped Bug Spawn System, new equipment, a new game mode – Critical Strike – and more.
Highlights of the Starship Troopers 1.6 update include:
- New Bug Spawn System – This system completely replaces our previous setup, offering better scalability, predictability, and creative flexibility for the future.
- Bug Holes – Volatile hotspots emerging on contested planets across the galaxy. These active nests are a growing threat, and it falls to you and your squad to locate and neutralize them.
- M-55 Nuclear Weapon – Players now have access to a nuclear-tier weapon: the M-55. Designed to provide necessary firepower for eradicating bugs from existence. The enemy is evolving, and so are we.
- Bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
The 1.6 update introduces Starship Troopers: Extermination’s first new game mode since its October 2024 launch: Critical Strike.
Federation scans detected massive Archigeon deposits deep underground after meteors struck remote areas on Valaka and Agni Prime. Only the best of the best will be tasked with marching headfirst into bug territory to retrieve it. Soldiers will fight separated from other squads and push through undocumented areas, cutting through swarms of bugs to claim Archigeon for the Federation.
Four squads. Four separate drop zones. One mission: reach the meteor site, regroup, and rearm. Soldiers must stay alert – this zone is infested with the largest insects the Arachnids have to offer, and they’re attacking at full strength.
Inspired by the Starship Troopers film, Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-op FPS where players join the Deep Space Vanguard to battle relentless Arachnid hordes on hostile planets.
