Valheim 1.0 arrives on PlayStation 5 on September 9, 2026, alongside the release of the survival game’s official launch trailer from PlayStation.

The US PlayStation Store listing identifies Valheim as a PS5 version and describes it as an exploration and survival game for one to 10 players in a procedurally generated world inspired by Norse mythology. Online play is optional, but PlayStation Plus is required for multiplayer.

Iron Gate confirmed the September 9 date for Valheim 1.0 across PC, Linux, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The developer also said the game will support full cross-play between platforms at launch, allowing PS5 players to join friends on the other confirmed systems.

Coffee Stain independently confirmed the same date and platform lineup. The official Valheim FAQ says the 1.0 release will retain support for one to 10 players and lists a base price of $29.99, though regional pricing may differ and the US PlayStation Store page checked for this report does not confirm a final price, edition, download size or unlock time.

The FAQ also states that consoles will not have official mod support at the launch of Valheim 1.0. Details about cross-progression and specific technical performance on PS5 were not confirmed in the available sources.
