Wargaming, developer and publisher of the top historically accurate multiplayer naval combat game on consoles, World of Warships: Legends, is celebrating six years on the seven seas with a special anniversary update. To kick off the festivities, the game introduces two new Premium cruisers, a special Bureau project, and a three-week Animated Birthday Calendar packed with rewards.
This landmark update also features the game’s first campaign with free Admiralty Backing to unlock one of two Tier VIII Premium ships, a second wave of Blue Archive content, and quality-of-life improvements for players.
World Party Campaign with Free Admiralty Backing
The first campaign featuring completely free Admiralty Backing has arrived! Following the classic format of Legendary campaigns, players can complete 100 milestones to unlock special rewards. At the end, two ships are offered as a choice: either the Japanese Tier VIII Premium destroyer Minegumo or the Pan-European Tier VIII Premium battleship Niord. The unchosen vessel will become available for Doubloons purchase after the campaign ends.
New Limited-Time Blue Archive Themed Content Now Available
World of Warships: Legends welcomes its second wave of Blue Archive content! Available from August 11 to September 8, players can expand their fleets with three new ships: the French Tier VIII Premium cruiser BA Utnapishtim’s Ship, the Italian Tier VI Premium battleship BA Binah, and the Soviet Tier VII Premium battleship BA Hovercraft.
Three new Commanders also join the game ready to lead these ships into battle: Hayase Yuuka, Konuri Maki, and Kosaka Wakamo, each featuring exclusive voiceovers. Fans can experience these additions, along with the previous wave of Blue Archive content, via the Store and Blue Archive II Containers.
World of Warships: Legends Anniversary Brings New Ships, Calendar & Special Project
To commemorate six years of Legendary action, players can complete a series of in-game activities to earn a special event currency—Piñatas. These Piñatas can be exchanged for various anniversary-themed items and rewards, including two new ships: the Pan-Asian Tier VII Premium cruiser Irian and the British Tier V Premium cruiser Dido.
The Animated Birthday Calendar also sails into port, delivering three weeks of rewards alongside a special Bureau project that grants players access to popular past event items, including those from Halloween, New Year, and Black Friday.
Visual Improvements and Enhanced Console Support
Beyond the anniversary celebrations, this update introduces numerous visual refinements to specific areas including maps, weather, lighting, and water effects for an enhanced visual experience. Additionally, PlayStation 5 users can now enjoy native 4K at 60 FPS support on the console, with Ray Tracing enabled for PlayStation 5 Pro users.
